This is who I create for: the individual willing to play a little, explore a lot, and be open to works that “come as they are” – visual and musical works that are just as likely to challenge as they are to comfort. I create for the me, because I must. I create for myself, for the individual, and to share in the wonder of it all.

BIOGRAPHY
Angela A. Edwards was born in 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana with roots in the West Indies and the American South.
From 1997-2001 she attended Herron School of Art graduating with a BA /General Fine Arts with a focus in Photography and Visual Communications.
From 1997 to 2011 she worked as an Illustrator, Graphics Journalist, and Interactive Designer at the Indianapolis Star, the largest daily paper in Indianapolis, Indiana, serving the city and surrounding metropolitan areas.
During her career in the editorial arts, she was awarded numerous awards for her illustration and infographics, both in print and in digital.
Currently the focus of her work incorporates and advances an array of traditional fine arts as well as craft mediums with digital technologies and traditional craft techniques.
She uses these methods to create 2d works as well as 3d art, in the form of mixed media assemblages, figurative portraiture work in watercolor and acrylic, machine stitched and hand-sewn collages made with paper and/or textiles, and printed relief monoprints.
